Insert wooden shims where appropriate, between the corner keys and the countertop, to level it. Secure the shims using headless nails, making sure not to penetrate the base of the cabinet. Remove the Formica countertop from the prefab kitchen cabinets and keep it in reserve. Apply a spoonful of adhesives to the construction of the top surface of each bracket in the corner of the cabinet. Hold the countertop over the base cabinets, and then lower it into place.
